Portugal, PKRA day 1

By kimandre in 2006 Europe roadtrip

Yesterday we made it to the PKRA, finally. And got some inspiration from some of the best riders in the world. Mike Blomval (from Sweden) was rippin it up together with Rui Meira, Alvaro, Ceasar etc. It was just awesome, the conditions ranged from 8-16 m2 kites. The kiteloops theese guys pull are from another dimention, inspiring stuff for sure!

After messing around trying to find a place to kite, we finally found a lagoon and got a session on the 17. God I love flat water, there is seriously nothing better for freestyle than completly flat water. So we will probably hang round Portimao in the south of Portugal for a week maybee more.

Today the wind was much lighter (6-8 knots), but that don’t mean you can’t have fun! I just screwed of all the fins and straps of the Stonker board, used it as a skim, and had a killer session in light light winds and shallow flat water.

So now all we gotta do is wait for more wind and try and do other stuff when the wind is not blowing (hopefully we won’t get to manydays of no wind).

And we are still writing off my laptop from public access wireless nets we find around the city, it’s really really hard to find a internet cafè.

Later dudes (and dudets)!
