The Drive Down

By kimandre in 2006 Europe roadtrip

We have had a couple of pretty eventfull days, the last couple of days. Driving thru Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and Spain sure takes some more energy than I expected. In the last 3 days we have driven almost 4000 km, all the way down to Portimão in Portugal for the PKRA event down here.

The trip started out with Brede beeing piss drunk from his company party the night before, so he pretty much sleept for 24 hours (and puked his guts out).

Oh, I forgot to mention the car kicks ass! The bed is comfy enough, and for now, the temprature has not been to bad either. Us pale Norwegians is even getting a little bit of color in the beautyfull sun.

I have gatherd some info about the driving habbits of the citizens of the respective countrys we have driven thru (don’t ask why I do this …)

Sweden: love the roads, love the people
Denmark: super aggressive drivers, hate the mofos
Germany: super nice roads and driving culture
France: expensive to drive thru, and the god damn lines makes me crazy.
Spain: they drive like they stole it! (and the gass to!)

After driving thru all the big cities like: Paris, Bordeaux, Burgos, Madrid: I realize why I don’t want no big city life .. jeeeez, who designed theese roads and where do all the god damn hippies come from? Lines lines lines, missing signs, missing signs, exits, exits, exits, crazy hippies on wheels, crazy hippies on wheels, crazy hippies on wheels …Well, you get the point. It just don’t fit into my KISS system (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Anyway, we are down in Portugal now and are ready to do some serious kitesurfing and get some progression (what we came here for). So I will keep you guys updated as soon as we get a good session in.

(Oh, and I’m writting this in the car almost in Portugal)
