Long time no see, I have not written anything on this blog for almost 3 months … guess there has not been much happening here this winter. I have gone on a few trips (acctually alot) up to the montains, but the wind has not been cooperating. Allways great powder conditions, but no wind. Since the elements have worked against me this winter, I have gotten very few sessions on snow (I can count them on one hand).
Anyway, last weekend I packed my bag, got in the car and headed for Sälen in Sweden for the Nordic Masters event up there. And again the elements where against us, not much wind on friday and saturday. Kristian, one of the organizers for this event did a great job entertaining all of the kiters. We attended a sled race (all ages where welcome), drowe alittle scooter and got some tow-in sessions on the sick rails behind the scooter.
I belive we shuved enought alcohol in us on friday and saturday, so finally on sunday we got alittle bit of wind. Just enough to keep the 16m2 flying, and it turned out to be a sunny beatyfull day. Got some nice runs on the slider, but dude …. when you have not kited for 3 months … the skills seems to be alittle rusty.
Now we are looking forward to a summer blessed with winds from the south and warm sunny weather.
Just got back from an awesome trip to Haugastøl (Hardangervidda), where I got my first taste of snow this year.
I meet up with some old friends and made some new ones, this is what I love the most about going places. The most significant event might just have been to meet Ben up in the mountains. He is an old friend that I meet back in 2004 in Australia, very nice to meet him again.
My girlfriend and a friend of hers came up with me, and tried to control a kite for the first time (and they did very very good on the Blade Vertigo’s that I just got to try out).
We also managed to snap a couple of photo’s (thanks hun), and I started to get in the groove again after more that a month without kiteing. The complete gallery is at this link.
Today we had a really gusty day on Hvittensand, with winds mainly from the west-south west. So the wind got real gusty when it first hit. We waited around for about 4 hours before the wind finally got some punch in it, and out we went.

This Saturday we had an epic session at Hvittensand, we got a good crew gathered at the beach to enjoy the weather we got. Kinda freaky that 2 minuttes after we got to the beach, the wind started blowing at perfect 18-20 knots steady. Thanks to my beatyfull girlfriend, who took some awesome shots (and Jørgen, who’s images will be uploaded later to the gallery).
I had a great day with some major breakthru in my progression, tried some really powered s-bend to blinds, and finally figured out how to do the slim chance. Can’t wait for another day to go out and acctually land some of the moves!
Today we had another great day at Hvittensand, alittle gusty, but any day on the water is a good day in my book. I just recived one of my new test kites today, so I really got a chance to give it a run for it’s money.
I meet up with Tom Rune on the beach, it was his first time on Hvittensand. He showed some really powered s-bends and s-bends with grabs, the dude got style!
